MANAGING THE EXPORT PROCESS

Managing your supply chain in-country is difficult enough. Moving perishable food products through a cross-border supply chain is more complex, with many more moving parts. Managing the many moving parts of this process and delivering you food solutions ‘without the work and worry on your part’ is what we do every day at BSI Foods.

Logistics costs in a cross-border supply chain can be a significant part of the product cost.  Because of this we constantly look at best cost options and work with our customers in an open-book approach to share information to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

The following is the 7-step process we manage for you.

1.We begin with the end in mind, with the objective to deliver “what you ordered, in the quantities ordered, in the proper condition, on schedule and ready to be distributed to your customers door".

2.We monitor and verify the import and labeling requirements prior to scheduling production of your order to ensure there will not be issues during the import process.

3.We monitor production and labeling processes to ensure the product will meet all USDA export requirements.

4.We work with the USDA approved production facility, government agency authorities and the shipping company to prepare export documents.  Drafts are reviewed by our staff and your customs import agency to confirm all is in order, prior to shipping original documents to you.

5.When the shipping container is loaded, all details are verified, electronic temperature tracking devices are placed in the container, photographs taken at various phases of the loading process, concluding with the sealed door.

6.The cold chain is monitored from the production facility to your door.

7.We monitor progress of the shipment while enroute, with frequent communications to your COMEX department.
